Umm ad-Darda' Narrated from:
My husband reported that he heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who supplicates for his brother behind his back (in his absence), the Angel commissioned (for carrying supplication to his Lord) says: Amen, and it is for you also.

Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2732b
This Hadith explains the reward-like response connected to dua for another Muslim. Umm Darda reported from her husband that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: whoever supplicates for his brother behind his back, the appointed angel says Ameen, and it is for you also. The phrase behind his back means the dua is made in his absence. This removes show and display from the act. The person is not making dua to be thanked. He is asking Allah for good for someone else. The Hadith also adds the word Ameen from the angel, which gives the believer hope and encourages a clean heart. It is a strong reminder to include others in our private duas.
What we learn from this hadith
- The appointed angel says Ameen to the dua made for another Muslim in absence.
- The angel also says that the same good is for the one making the dua.
- Private dua for others can train the heart away from selfishness.
- The Hadith encourages sincere goodwill between Muslims.
