حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، وَأَبُو كُرَيْبٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، - وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ - حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، وَأَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لاَ أَحَدٌ أَغْيَرَ مِنَ اللَّهِ وَلِذَلِكَ حَرَّمَ الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَلاَ أَحَدٌ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ الْمَدْحُ مِنَ اللَّهِ " .
`Abdullah Narrated from:
Abdullah reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: None is more self-respecting than Allah and it is because of this that He has prohibited abominable acts-both visible and invisible-and none loves His praise more than Allah Himself.

This version of the fawahish hadith gives a clearer wording about abominable acts. It says that none is more self-respecting than Allah, and for that reason He prohibited fawahish, both what is visible and what is hidden. It also says none loves His praise more than Allah. The message is easy to understand. A believer should not only avoid public shameful acts but also hidden ones. The hadith about Allah’s ghayrah makes the moral point plain: Allah has forbidden these actions, so the servant should treat that boundary with care. The praise of Allah is also part of the report, so the heart should know Allah through praise and obedience.
