Muwatta MalikHadith Number 30
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ - وَهُوَ يَوْمَئِذٍ أَمِيرُ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ - يُطْرَحُ لَهُ صَاعٌ مِنْ تَمْرٍ فَيَأْكُلُهُ حَتَّى يَأْكُلَ حَشَفَهَا .
Anas bin Malik Narrated from:
I saw Umar ibn al-Khattab when he was amir al-muminin being given a sa of dates, and he ate all of them, even the inferior ones.
