Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 2297
This Hadith is another narration of Hamzah bin 'Amr’s question about fasting while traveling. He asked the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم about the matter, and the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: if you wish to fast, then fast; and if you wish not to fast, then do not fast. The repeated wording helps the reader see how clear the message is in this report. It does not turn travel fasting into a point of blame by itself, nor does it make breaking the fast look wrong. The core topic is the traveler’s choice as stated in the Hadith. This makes it useful for people searching for a simple hadith about travel fasting in English.
