Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 3112
This hadith about faith against stinginess gives the same main message in clear words. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said that dust in the cause of Allah and the smoke of Hell will never be combined in a slave’s lungs. He then said that stinginess and faith can never be combined in a slave’s heart. The hadith speaks to both body and heart. The body may carry dust through effort in Allah’s cause. The heart should carry faith, not stinginess. The narration is especially relevant for searches about stinginess in Islam and hadith about faith and generosity. It does not mention a long list of actions; it focuses on one serious inner trait and its conflict with faith.
What we learn from this hadith
- The hadith warns against stinginess inside the heart.
- Faith is described as incompatible with stinginess in this wording.
- Dust in Allah’s cause is honored in the narration.
- The report teaches care for both outward effort and inward purity.
