Ibn 'Umar Narrated from:

Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 4467
This hadith explains both the open stage of a sale and the point at which it becomes binding. The buyer and seller have a choice while they have not separated. However, when both choose to conclude the transaction, the sale becomes binding. The wording places mutual decision at the center of the agreement. For someone asking when a sale becomes binding in Islam, this narration gives a direct answer within the condition it states. Before separation, the choice remains unless the parties have already chosen to finalize. After that shared choice, the transaction is no longer described as open. The hadith encourages buyers and sellers to make their decision clear. A clear conclusion protects both sides from confusion about whether the deal was accepted or still being considered.
What we learn from this hadith
- Buyer and seller have a choice before separation.
- A mutual choice to conclude makes the transaction binding.
- Both parties should make the final decision clear.
- Clarity helps prevent doubt about whether the sale is complete.
