Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 4511

This hadith about two forbidden transactions is short and focused. Abu Saeed al-Khudri said that the Messenger of Allah forbade two kinds of transactions: Mulamash and Munabadhah. The report does not give their definitions in this wording, so the explanation should not add more than it says. The direct teaching is that Muslims should avoid these two named sale forms. For readers searching for forbidden sales in Islam, this hadith shows that the Prophet did not leave every business custom open without guidance. Trade has limits. A believer should not judge a sale only by local habit, but should ask whether the Messenger of Allah allowed or forbade it.

What we learn from this hadith

  • The Prophet forbade two named transaction types.
  • Mulamash is listed as a forbidden transaction.
  • Munabadhah is listed as a forbidden transaction.
  • Business customs need to be checked against prophetic guidance.
