Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 4979
This hadith about hand not cut while traveling is reported from Junadah bin Abi Umayyah, who heard Busr bin Abi Artah say that he heard the Messenger of Allah say: hands should not be cut off while traveling. The wording is short and focused. It does not explain every reason behind the rule, and it does not discuss every travel case. It simply gives a limit connected to travel. Because the subject is a legal penalty, the best explanation is to stay close to the text. The report tells readers that the timing and setting mentioned in the narration matter, and that the named punishment is not carried out while traveling.
What we learn from this hadith
- The narration states that hands should not be cut off while traveling.
- The text ties the statement to the setting of travel.
