Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 5160

This hadith about gold wearing gives a short but direct teaching. Ibn Umar reports that the Messenger of Allah [SAW] forbade wearing gold unless it was broken into smaller pieces. The wording is brief, so the explanation should stay brief and careful too. It points to a clear limit around gold as an adornment, while also mentioning a special form: gold that is cut or broken. The main search idea here is “hadith about gold rings” or “wearing gold in Islam hadith,” but this exact report does not mention rings by name. It simply speaks about wearing gold and the exception stated in the narration.

What we learn from this hadith

  • The report teaches that gold as adornment has a stated boundary.
  • The exception mentioned in the text should not be ignored.
  • Short Hadiths still need careful wording when explained.
  • A believer should pay attention to both the rule and the exception.
