Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri Narrated from:

Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 5340
This hadith about covering private parts gives a clear lesson on modest clothing. Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri reports that the Messenger of Allah forbade Ishtimal As-Samma' and also forbade sitting wrapped in one garment when nothing from it covered the private parts. The main point is simple: clothing should protect a person’s dignity, not expose what must be covered. The narration does not discuss fashion, color, or personal style. It focuses on two unsafe ways of wearing a single garment. So the meaning should stay narrow: avoid dress or sitting postures that can leave the body uncovered. It is a practical reminder that modesty is shown in small daily habits.
What we learn from this hadith
- Avoid wrapping clothing in a way that may expose the private parts.
- Modesty includes how a person sits and wears a garment.
- The Prophet’s guidance covers simple daily matters of dress.
- A single garment should still cover what needs to be covered.
