Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 5594
This hadith about mead gives a clear answer to a drink-specific question. The Messenger of Allah was asked about mead, and he replied that every drink that intoxicates is unlawful. In the wording of this report, mead is connected with honey. The Prophet’s answer does not make the ruling depend only on the name “mead.” It gives a wider rule about any drink that intoxicates. For searches like “mead in hadith,” “honey drink hadith,” and “every drink that intoxicates is haram,” this narration is highly relevant. The main lesson is simple: even if a drink is made from something familiar like honey, intoxication makes it unlawful.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Prophet was asked about mead in this narration.
