Calling to Islam: Beautiful and Wise Ways to Share Faith

According to Islamic scholars, sharing the message of Islam requires a balanced, kind, and considerate approach. The provided prophet accounts teach us that inviting others to faith should always be done with clarity and genuine care. When inviting people, the Prophet emphasized clarity, as seen in his direct address to others. Furthermore, he explicitly commanded his followers to make religious matters easy for people rather than causing unnecessary hardship. He advised sharing good news and tidings instead of pushing people away. To keep listeners engaged and prevent boredom, the Prophet and his companions carefully timed their preaching, selecting specific days or appropriate moments rather than talking continuously. This thoughtful method ensures that the message remains welcoming, simple, and easily understood by all.

It has been narrated on the authority of the same narrator through another chain of transmitters with the same difference in the wording.

Abu Hurairah Narrated from:

While we were in the mosque, Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) came out to us and said, "Let us proceed to the Jews." So we went along with him till we reached Bait-al-Midras (a place where the Torah used to be recited and all the Jews of the town used to gather). The Prophet (ﷺ) stood up and addressed them, "O Assembly of Jews! Embrace Islam and you will be safe!" The Jews replied, "O Aba-l-Qasim! You have conveyed Allah's message to us." The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "That is what I want (from you)." He repeated his first statement for the second time, and they said, "You have conveyed Allah's message, O Aba-l- Qasim."Then he said it for the third time and added, "You should Know that the earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle, and I want to exile you from this land, so whoever among you owns some property, can sell it, otherwise you should know that the Earth belongs to Allah and His Apostle." Abu Hurairah Narrated from:

Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: He who called (people) to righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And he who called (people) to error, he shall have to carry (the burden) of its sin, like those who committed it, without their sins being diminished in any respect.

Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said to Mu`adh bin Jabal when he sent him to Yemen. "You will come to the people of Scripture, and when you reach them, invite them to testify that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah and that Muhammad is His Apostle. And if they obey you in that, then tell them that Allah has enjoined on them five prayers to be performed every day and night. And if they obey you in that, then tell them that Allah has enjoined on them Sadaqa (i.e. rak`at) to be taken from the rich amongst them and given to the poor amongst them. And if they obey you in that, then be cautious! Don't take their best properties (as Zakat) and be afraid of the curse of an oppressed person as there is no screen between his invocation and Allah.
