Sahih BukhariHadith Number 4369
Ibn 'Abbas Narrated from:
The delegation of `Abdul Qais came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said, "O Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) We belong to the tribe of Rabi`a. The infidels of Mudar tribe intervened between us and you so that we cannot come to you except in the Sacred Months, so please order us some things we may act on and invite those left behind to act on.The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I order you to observe four things and forbid you from four things: (I order you) to believe in Allah, i.e. to testify that None has the right to be worshipped except Allah." The Prophet (ﷺ) pointed with finger indicating one and added, "To offer prayers perfectly: to give Zakat, and to give one-fifth of the booty you win (for Allah's Sake). I forbid you to use Ad-Dubba', An-Naquir, Al-Hantam and Al-Muzaffat, (Utensils used for preparing alcoholic liquors and drinks).

Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 4369
This Hadith gives a shorter wording of the Abdul Qais delegation. They explain that they belong to Rabi'a and that the disbelievers of Mudar block their way, so they can only come during a sacred month. Their request is practical: command us with things we can follow and call our people to follow. The Prophet orders them to believe in Allah, and he explains that with the testimony that none has the right to be worshipped except Allah. He also tells them to offer prayer perfectly, give Zakat, and give one-fifth of what they gain as booty for Allah's sake. Then he forbids Ad-Dubba, An-Naqir, Al-Hantam, and Al-Muzaffat. The teaching is simple: learn clear faith, act on it, and share it responsibly.
What we learn from this hadith
- The delegation wanted guidance they could practice and teach others.
- Belief is explained with the testimony of Allah's oneness.
- Prayer and Zakat are named among the commands.
- The Prophet also gave clear limits about certain vessels.
