Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1106
This Hadith is about Tashahhud in a khutbah. Abu Hurairah narrates that the Messenger of Allah said every khutbah that does not have Tashahhud in it is like a severed hand. The wording is short, but its image is strong. A khutbah is a serious address, and the Hadith points to the place of Tashahhud inside it. The main search phrase is hadith about khutbah without tashahhud. The Hadith does not give a full khutbah script here, and it does not explain every legal detail. It only gives a comparison for a khutbah missing Tashahhud. So the safe explanation is that testimony of faith should not be treated as a small or optional-sounding part of religious speech.
What we learn from this hadith
- A khutbah is described as incomplete when it lacks Tashahhud.
- The Hadith uses a strong image to show the value of Tashahhud.
- The report focuses on religious speech, not on unrelated kinds of talks.
