Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1273

This hadith about studding a stallion says that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم prohibited it. The report then notes related narrations from other Companions and says some people of knowledge acted on this. It also mentions that some made a concession for accepting an honorarium. The wording should not be stretched beyond what it says. It deals with asb al-fahl, the fee connected to using a male animal for breeding. For readers searching stallion stud fee hadith or animal breeding fee in Islam, the balanced point is that the text records a prohibition and also mentions a later concession for honorarium. This keeps the difference between a fixed sale-like fee and a gift-like honorarium clear enough without adding rulings not present in the report.

What we learn from this hadith

  • The report states a prohibition related to studding a stallion.
  • Some scholars mentioned in the text allowed an honorarium.
  • Animal-related earnings also have ethical limits.
  • The explanation should not ignore the concession mentioned in the same report.
