Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1629
This Hadith repeats the teaching that support work carries reward. Zaid bin Khalid Al-Juhani narrated that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said whoever prepares a fighter in Allah's cause, or looks after the family of a fighter, has participated in a military expedition. The wording is simple and direct. It values two practical actions: preparing someone for the task and caring for his family while he is away. The Hadith does not add details beyond these forms of support. Its message is that service behind the scenes can share in the reward of the main effort when done for Allah's cause.
What we learn from this hadith
- Preparing a fighter is counted as taking part in the expedition.
- Caring for the fighter's family is also counted as taking part.
- The Hadith gives value to behind-the-scenes support.
- Practical help for others can carry shared reward.
