Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1633
This Hadith joins two powerful images: tears from fear of Allah and dust in Allah's cause. Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said a man who wept out of fear of Allah shall not enter the Fire until milk returns to the udder. The Hadith also says that dust in Allah's cause and the smoke of Hell shall not come together. The wording shows the value of a heart that fears Allah and of effort made in Allah's cause. It does not ask people to show tears for others. It points to sincere inner fear and sincere outward effort.
What we learn from this hadith
