Ibn 'Umar Narrated from:
When The Messenger Of Allah (ﷺ) Would Wear An 'Imamah Would Hang Between His Shoulders. Nafi' Said: "Ibn 'Umar Would Hang His 'Imamah Between His Shoulders." 'Ubaidullah Said: "And I Saw Al-Qasim And Salim Doing That." [Abu 'Eisa Said:] This Hadith Is Hasan Gharib. And There Is Something On This Topic From 'Ali. And This Hadith Of 'Ali About This Is Not Correct Due To Its Chain.

Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1736
This hadith about the Prophet’s turban style reports that when the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم wore an imamah, he would let it hang between his shoulders. Nafi' adds that Ibn Umar would do the same, and Ubaidullah says he saw Al-Qasim and Salim doing that too. Abu Eisa calls the hadith hasan gharib and notes that the narration from Ali on this topic is not correct due to its chain. The main search phrase is Prophet turban between shoulders hadith. This narration is useful because it gives a simple detail of how the imamah was worn and how some later figures followed that practice.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم is reported to have let his imamah hang between his shoulders.
- Ibn Umar also practiced this according to Nafi'.
- Al-Qasim and Salim were seen doing the same.
- The report includes a note that another narration from Ali is not correct in its chain.
