Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1964
This hadith about the noble believer describes a clear difference between two types of character. The Prophet said that the believer is naively noble, while the wicked person is deceitfully treacherous. The wording shows that a believer is not meant to be known for trickery, manipulation, or low behavior. The believer’s nature should lean toward kindness, honesty, and noble dealing. The hadith does not praise foolishness in a careless sense. It presents the believer as open-hearted and honorable, not someone who lives by cheating others. In contrast, the wicked person is described with words linked to deceit and low character. This hadith is a reminder that faith should make a person clean in dealings and generous in spirit.
What we learn from this hadith
- A believer should be known for noble and clean character.
- Deceit and treachery do not fit the believer’s path.
- Good faith should shape how a person deals with others.
- Islam values honesty over clever tricks that harm people.
