Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 1995
This Hadith gives three social manners in one statement. The Prophet said not to argue with your brother, not to joke with him, and not to make a promise only to break it. The wording warns against behavior that can damage trust between people. The Hadith about not arguing and keeping promises teaches care in close relationships. Argument can strain brotherhood. Joking, if it becomes harmful or careless, can also cause hurt. A promise that is not fulfilled weakens trust. This Hadith guides the believer to protect relationships through calmer speech, careful humor, and honest commitment. It is a simple rule for better daily conduct.
What we learn from this hadith
- Do not argue with your brother in a harmful way.
- Joking should not become a cause of harm.
- Do not make promises that you do not fulfill.
