حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْجُوزَجَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا نُعَيْمُ بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّكُمْ فِي زَمَانٍ مَنْ تَرَكَ مِنْكُمْ عُشْرَ مَا أُمِرَ بِهِ هَلَكَ ثُمَّ يَأْتِي زَمَانٌ مَنْ عَمِلَ مِنْهُمْ بِعُشْرِ مَا أُمِرَ بِهِ نَجَا " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ نُعَيْمِ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ عَنْ سُفْيَانَ بْنِ عُيَيْنَةَ . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ وَأَبِي سَعِيدٍ .
Abu Hurairah Narrated from:
The Prophet(s.a.w) said: "You Are In A Time When Whoever Abandons A Tenth Of What He Has Been Ordered, Then He Is Ruined. Then, There Will Come A Time In Which Whoever Does A Tenth Of What He Has Been Ordered Shall Be Saved."

Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2267
This hadith about following commands compares the Prophet’s companions’ time with a later time. The Prophet (S.A.W) says that they are in a time when leaving a tenth of what they were ordered with would lead to ruin. Then he says a time will come when doing a tenth of what people were ordered with will be a means of being saved. The hadith is not telling people to be lazy. It is showing that times differ in difficulty and pressure. The wording gives a serious warning to those who have strong access to guidance, and it gives hope for later people who hold on even when conditions become harder.
