Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2275
This hadith about righteous dreams reports Ubadah bin As-Samit asking the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) about the verse mentioning glad tidings in the life of this world. The Prophet (S.A.W) answered that it refers to the righteous dream which the believer sees or which is seen about him. The meaning is close and direct: some righteous dreams may be a form of glad news for a believer. The hadith does not turn dreams into proof for every decision, and it does not say every dream has this status. It speaks about the righteous dream only. That makes the teaching hopeful but still careful and controlled by the wording.
What we learn from this hadith
- Righteous dreams may be glad tidings for a believer.
- A dream may be seen by the believer or seen about him.
- The narration explains the verse through the Prophet’s answer.
- Not every dream is described here; the hadith speaks about righteous dreams.
