حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " لَوْ كَانَتِ الدُّنْيَا تَعْدِلُ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ جَنَاحَ بَعُوضَةٍ مَا سَقَى كَافِرًا مِنْهَا شَرْبَةَ مَاءٍ " . وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ .
Sahl bin Sa`d Narrated from:
The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "If The World To Allah Was Equal To A Mosquito'S Wing, Then He Would Not Allow The Disbeliever To Have A Sip Of Water From It."

Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2320
This Hadith gives a strong image of the small value of worldly life before Allah. The Messenger of Allah said that if the world were equal to a mosquito's wing with Allah, He would not allow the disbeliever to have a sip of water from it. This hadith about the world and a mosquito's wing does not say that water or life has no practical value for people. It shows that the world itself is not great in Allah's sight. The message is to avoid being fooled by worldly access, comfort, or status. A person may receive things in this life, but that alone does not prove nearness to Allah.
