Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2649
This hadith about concealing knowledge gives a serious warning to those who know an answer and hide it when asked. The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said that whoever is asked about knowledge he knows, then conceals it, will be bridled on the Day of Judgment with a bridle of fire. The wording is strong and should make a knowledgeable person careful. It does not mean every person must answer every question without wisdom. The hadith speaks about someone who knows the knowledge and then hides it. The message is that beneficial knowledge is a trust. When people need guidance, the one who knows should not hide what is needed from them.

- Knowledge can be a trust when people ask for it.
- The hadith warns against hiding knowledge that one knows.
