Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2661
This Hadith gives a direct and serious warning about lying upon the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم. The main message is simple: a person must not falsely claim that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said something. The wording says that whoever lies upon him purposely should take his seat in the Fire. This makes truthfulness in hadith narration a serious trust. It is not a light matter to share a quote, ruling, or story and attach it to the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم without care. The Hadith teaches Muslims to be careful before spreading religious statements. A hadith about lying on the Prophet is also a reminder that love for the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم includes protecting his words from false claims.
