Abu Hurairah Narrated from:
Allah'S Messenger Said: "When The Imam Says: (Sami Allahu Liman Hamidah) 'Allah Listens To Those Who Praise Him. Then (All Of You) Say: (Rabbana Wa Lakal-Hamd) 'O Our Lord! And To You Is The Praise For Whoever'S Saying Concurs With The Saying Of The Angels, Then His Past Sins Will Be Forgiven."

Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 267
This Hadith explains what worshippers should say when the Imam rises from ruku and says Sami Allahu liman hamidah. The Prophet instructed the people to say Rabbana wa lakal-hamd, meaning O our Lord, and to You is the praise. The Hadith also mentions a great blessing for the one whose saying agrees with the saying of the angels: his past sins will be forgiven. The explanation should stay close to the text. The main act taught here is following the Imam with the proper words of praise. It also shows that even a short phrase in prayer can carry great meaning when said at the right time and in the right way.
What we learn from this hadith
- Followers say Rabbana wa lakal-hamd after the Imam says Sami Allahu liman hamidah.
- The phrase is a direct praise of Allah during prayer.
- The Hadith mentions forgiveness when one’s saying agrees with the angels.
- Congregational prayer includes careful timing and shared words of worship.
