Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2673
This Hadith speaks about a very serious matter: wrongful killing. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that no soul is wrongfully taken except that some of the burden of its blood is upon the son of Adam, because he was the first to institute murder. The Hadith teaches the heavy danger of starting an evil path that others follow. It is not only the direct act that matters; opening the door to a harmful practice can carry ongoing burden. A hadith about starting evil practices reminds us that actions can influence others after us. The text specifically mentions murder, so the explanation should stay close to that example and not soften its seriousness.
What we learn from this hadith
- Wrongful killing is treated as a grave matter in this Hadith.
- Starting an evil practice can bring continuing burden.
- A person’s harmful example may affect later people.
- The first to institute murder is linked to a share of later wrongful bloodshed.
