Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2765
This hadith is searched as hadith about reclining in the mosque or one foot over another hadith. The report is an observation from the paternal uncle of Abbad bin Tamim. He saw the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم reclining in the masjid and placing one of his feet atop the other. The wording is descriptive. It tells us what was seen, not a spoken command. It also shows that some reports about manners come through the careful observation of the Companions. The focus here is the Prophet’s posture in the masjid. The explanation should not mix it with every other posture report, because this text only states this single scene.
