Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 2830
This hadith about Sa'd's honor is narrated from Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas himself. He said that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم mentioned both of his parents to him on the Day of Uhud. The Arabic wording includes the phrase, 'Shoot, may my father and mother be ransomed for you.' This report is short, but it confirms the same event from Sa'd's own side. It is best explained as a narration about special honor and encouragement given to Sa'd. The text does not mention other details of Uhud, nor does it list all of Sa'd's merits. Its focus is one remembered moment and one honored phrase spoken by the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.
What we learn from this hadith
- Sa'd himself reported this special statement from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.
- The event is connected to the Day of Uhud in the text.
- The wording shows strong encouragement and honor.
- The narration is focused on one phrase and should be explained within that limit.
