Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 285
This Hadith is another chain for the previous report about the dua between two prostrations. The translation says it is similar, meaning it points back to the same supplication: asking Allah for forgiveness, mercy, help, guidance, and sustenance. The Arabic note also mentions that Abu Isa called it gharib and that some scholars, including Al-Shafi'i, Ahmad, and Ishaq, saw this wording as allowed in obligatory and voluntary prayer. The explanation should stay close to the text: this report is not a new wording in the translation, but a supporting narration for the same prayer practice. It keeps attention on the value of making humble dua while sitting in Salah.
What we learn from this hadith
- A second chain can support attention to the same prayer wording.
- The dua between prostrations is linked with both obligatory and voluntary prayer in the note.
- The worshipper is reminded to ask Allah for basic needs in Salah.
