'Ali Narrated from:
Abu Jahl Said To The Prophet (ﷺ): 'We Do Not Deny You, But We Deny What You Came With.' So Allah Most High Revealed:It Is Not You That They Deny But Is Allah'S Ayat Which The Wrong-Doers Reject (6:33).

Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 3064
This hadith about denying Allah's Ayat tells of Abu Jahl's statement to the Prophet. He said that they did not deny the Prophet himself, but they denied what he came with. Then Allah revealed that it was not the Prophet they were denying, but the wrongdoers were rejecting Allah's signs. The wording keeps the focus clear. The issue was not that the Prophet was unknown or personally accused in this statement. The deeper problem was rejection of the message brought from Allah. The narration also includes a note that one route not mentioning Ali is more correct. The main lesson is that rejecting revealed truth is a serious act, even when someone admits the messenger is truthful.
What we learn from this hadith
- The hadith separates personal recognition of the Prophet from rejection of revelation.
- Denying Allah's Ayat is described as the act of wrongdoers.
- A person may know truth yet still reject what it demands.
- The narration includes a note about the stronger wording of the chain.
