Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 3196
This hadith explains the verse, Their sides forsake their beds, by saying it was revealed about waiting for the prayer called Al-Atamah. In common usage, Al-Atamah refers to the late night prayer, often connected with Isha. The main idea in the text is simple: believers left the comfort of their beds because they were waiting for prayer. The hadith does not mention a long list of extra acts, so the explanation should not add them. It teaches love for salah, patience with waiting, and choosing worship over sleep when the prayer is due. The wording makes waiting for prayer itself a meaningful act.
What we learn from this hadith
- Waiting for prayer is shown as an act with spiritual value.
- The believers left comfort for the sake of salah.
- Night prayer times can test patience and devotion.
- The hadith explains Qur'an 32:16 through the act of waiting for Al-Atamah.
