Jami at-Tirmidhi 36 — Wiping the Ears Inside and Outside

Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 36

This hadith about wiping ears in wudu is narrated by Ibn Abbas. He reported that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم wiped his head and his ears, both the outside and the inside of them. The wording is short but clear. It does not give a long description of all wudu steps; it focuses on the head and ears. For someone searching how to wipe ears in wudu, this narration gives the key point: the ears were included with wiping, and both sides are named. The surrounding text also states that most people of knowledge held that the ears are wiped on their outside and inside. The lesson is to treat the ears with care during wudu, not to skip them casually.
