Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 3921

This hadith about the sacred boundaries of Madinah shows how deeply Abu Hurairah understood the Prophet's words. He said that even if he saw animals roaming in Al-Madinah, he would not advance upon them or frighten them. His reason was simple: the Messenger of Allah (صلى الله عليه وسلم) said that whatever is between the two lava tracts of Madinah is sacred. The main lesson is respect for a place made sacred by the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلم). The wording points to care, restraint, and awareness. A believer should not treat sacred places like ordinary land. The hadith also shows that love for the Sunnah is not only in words. It appears in small actions, even in how one behaves toward animals within a sacred area.

What we learn from this hadith

  • Madinah has a sacred boundary between its two lava tracts.
  • A believer should show respect for places declared sacred in the Sunnah.
  • Abu Hurairah applied the Prophet's teaching in practical daily behavior.
  • Care for animals can be part of honoring a sacred place.
