Summary of Jami at-Tirmidhi Hadith 699
This hadith about hastening iftar is short and strong. Sahl bin Sa'd narrated that the Messenger of Allah said the people will remain upon goodness as long as they hasten to break the fast. The meaning is not to break the fast early. It means that once the proper time has entered, people should not delay iftar without reason. This keeps fasting within its set time and follows the Prophet’s guidance. The hadith also shows that small actions around worship matter. Ending the fast on time is part of the beauty of Ramadan fasting and a sign of following the Sunnah.
