The Prophet Hurried Through Wadi Muhassir." Bishr (One Of The Narrators) Added: "He Departed From Jam Calmly And He Ordered Them (The People) To Be Calm." And Abu Nu'Aim (One Of The Narrators) Added: "And He Ordered Them To Do The Stoning With What Was Similar To Pebbles For Al-Khadhf' And He Said: "Perhaps I Will Not See You After This Year."
[1] “The scholars say Khadhf pebbles are about the size of legumes.” ( Tuhfat Al-Ahwadhi ). Al-Khadhf for hunting or fighting the enemy was prohibited in a Hadīth (see Al-Bukhārī no. 5479), and it is to throw pebbles at the enemy or game, or to shoot pebbles from a slingshot.Reference : Jami` at-Tirmidhi 886In-book reference : Book 9, Hadith 79English translation : Vol. 2, Book 4, Hadith 886
