Summary of Sunan Abi Dawud Hadith 271
This hadith gives a different report from Aishah about her own action during menstruation. She says that when she menstruated, she left the bed and lay on the reed-mat. She also says she did not approach or come near the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم until they were purified. The main search phrase is “Aishah menstruation bed hadith.” The wording here is about caution and separation until purification. It should be explained as this report states it, without forcing it to say more than it says. The hadith reminds readers that narrations may describe specific actions and settings, and each text should be read carefully on its own terms.
What we learn from this hadith
- Aishah describes leaving the bed during menstruation in this report.
- She mentions waiting until purification before coming near.
- The hadith should be understood from its own wording.
