59/5. Chapter:
Allah's Statement: "And it is He Who sends the winds as heralds of glad tidings, going before his Mercy (rain)..."
قَاصِفًا} تَقْصِفُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ. {لَوَاقِحَ} مَلاَقِحَ مُلْقِحَةً. {إِعْصَارٌ} رِيحٌ عَاصِفٌ، تَهُبُّ مِنَ الأَرْضِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ كَعَمُودٍ فِيهِ نَارٌ. {صِرٌّ} بَرْدٌ. {نُشُرًا} مُتَفَرِّقَةً.

حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " نُصِرْتُ بِالصَّبَا، وَأُهْلِكَتْ عَادٌ بِالدَّبُورِ ".
Narrated Ibn `Abbas: The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "I have been made victorious with the Saba (i.e. easterly wind) and the people of 'Ad were destroyed with the Dabur (i.e. westerly wind) ."
