Musa bin Abi Aisha Narrated from:
Narrated Musa bin Abi Aisha: That he asked Sa`id bin Jubair regarding (the statement of Allah). 'Move not your tongue concerning (the Qur'an) to make haste therewith.' He said, "Ibn `Abbas said that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to move his lips when the Divine Inspiration was being revealed to him. So the Prophet (ﷺ) was ordered not to move his tongue, which he used to do, lest some words should escape his memory.'It is for Us to collect it' means, We will collect it in your chest;' and its recitation' means, We will make you recite it. 'But when We recite it (i.e. when it is revealed to you), follow its recital; it is for Us to explain it and make it clear,' (i.e. We will explain it through your tongue).

Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 4928
This Hadith gives a clear explanation of the verses about not moving the tongue in haste during revelation. Ibn Abbas explained that the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم used to move his lips when revelation came because he feared that some words might escape him. Then he was told not to move his tongue in that way. The verse, It is for Us to collect it and its recitation, is explained here as Allah collecting it in the Prophet’s chest and making him recite it. The next verse teaches that when it is recited to him, he should follow its recital. Then Allah would make its meaning clear through his tongue. The Hadith centers on Quran preservation and trust in Allah’s promise.
What we learn from this hadith
- The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم feared missing some words during revelation.
- Allah promised to collect the Quran in his chest and enable its recitation.
- The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم was taught to follow the recitation when it was revealed.
- The explanation of the Quran is also described as being from Allah.
