`Abdullah and Abu Musa Narrated from:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said, "Near the establishment of the Hour there will be days during which Religious ignorance will spread, knowledge will be taken away (vanish) and there will be much Al-Harj, and Al- Harj means killing."

Summary of Sahih Bukhari Hadith 7062
This Hadith about knowledge being taken away warns of days near the establishment of the Hour. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم says that religious ignorance will spread, knowledge will be taken away, and Al-Harj will become common. The narration itself explains that Al-Harj means killing. The focus is clear: when true religious knowledge fades and ignorance spreads, society becomes more open to violence and confusion. The Hadith does not tell the reader to guess the exact timing of the Hour. It tells the reader to understand the danger of losing knowledge. A Muslim should value sound learning, protect it, and avoid acting from ignorance. This makes the Hadith both a warning and a reminder to seek guidance.
What we learn from this hadith
- Religious ignorance spreading is named as a sign near the Hour.
- Knowledge being taken away is a serious loss for the community.
- Al-Harj is directly explained as killing.
- A Muslim should value sound religious knowledge before it becomes scarce.
