Mu'adh bin Jabal Narrated from:
I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Paradise has one hundred grades, each of which is as big as the distance between heaven and earth. The highest of them is Firdaws and the best of them is Firdaws. The Throne is above Firdaws and from it spring forth the rivers of Paradise. If you ask of Allah, ask Him for Firdaws.’”

Summary of Sunan Ibn Majah Hadith 4331
This Hadith about Firdaws teaches us how to ask Allah when asking for Paradise. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said that Paradise has one hundred grades, and each grade is as wide as the distance between heaven and earth. He then said that the highest and best of them is Firdaws. The Throne is above Firdaws, and from it the rivers of Paradise spring forth. The practical instruction is clear: when you ask Allah, ask Him for Firdaws. This Hadith does not ask the believer to be shy in dua. It teaches a high aim in a humble way, because the request is made to Allah, not claimed by one’s own power.
What we learn from this hadith
- Paradise has many grades, as stated in the Hadith.
- Firdaws is described as the highest and best grade.
- Believers are taught to ask Allah for Firdaws.
- The Hadith connects Paradise, dua, and hope in Allah.
