Mishkat al-MasabihHadith Number 4692
عَن يعلى قَالَ: إِنَّ حسنا وحُسينًا رضي الله عنها اسْتَبَقَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ فَضَمَّهُمَا إِلَيْهِ وَقَالَ: «إِنَّ الْوَلَدَ مَبْخَلَةٌ مجبنَةٌ» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمد
Ya'la Narrated from:
Hasan and Husayn raced one another to Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم. He held them in his arms affectionately and said, 'Surely, children are a cause of niggardliness and cowardice.'" [2]
