Pus Better Then Poetry in Belly

Mishkat al-MasabihHadith Number 4809

Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri Narrated from:

While we were travelling with Allah's Messenger ﷺ in al-Arj, a poet came before us reciting poetry. Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, "Get hold of the devil,' or, 'catch the devil (meaning, stop him from reciting poetry), because it is better for a man to let pus fill his belly than to have poetry fill it."
