Mishkat al-MasabihHadith Number 4986
وَعَن معَاذ بن أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ﷺ: «مَنْ حَمَى مُؤْمِنًا مِنْ مُنَافِقٍ بَعَثَ اللَّهُ مَلَكًا يَحْمِي لَحْمَهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ مِنْ نَارِ جَهَنَّمَ وَمَنْ رَمَى مُسْلِمًا بِشَيْءٍ يُرِيدُ بِهِ شَيْنَهُ حَبْسَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى جِسْرِ جَهَنَّمَ حَتَّى يَخْرُجَ مِمَّا قَالَ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
Mu'adh ibn Anas Narrated from:
Allah's Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم said, "He who protects a believer from (the mischief against his honour of) a hypocrite, Allah will send an angel who will protect his flesh from the fire of hell on the day of resurrection. But, if anyone casts on a Muslim something whereby he intends to cast aspersion on his character, then he will be confined by Allah on the bridge over hell till he comes out of what he has said (by serving the punishment for it).” [1]
