Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 2598c
This hadith about cursing is direct and easy to remember. Umm Darda' reported from Abu Darda' that he heard the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم say that those who invoke curses will not be witnesses or intercessors on the Day of Resurrection. The wording points to a serious result for a harmful habit of speech. It does not discuss a single angry moment in detail here; it speaks about those known as people who curse. This hadith on the tongue in Islam encourages a believer to think before speaking against someone. Clean speech is part of good character, and repeated cursing is shown as a dangerous habit.
What we learn from this hadith
- Those who invoke curses are warned about the Day of Resurrection.
- Cursing is not presented as a minor habit in this report.
- Good speech matters for a believer's character.
- A person should avoid becoming known as a curser.
