Sahih MuslimHadith Number 95c
Miqdad Narrated from:
It is narrated by Miqdad, and he was an ally of B. Zuhra and was of those who participated in the Battle of Badr along with the Messenger of Allah, that he said: Messenger of Allah, here is a point: If I happened to encounter a person amongst the infidels (in the battle). Then he narrated a hadith similar to the one transmitted by Laith.

Summary of Sahih Muslim Hadith 95c
This narration tells us that Miqdad, who is described in the text as an ally of Banu Zuhra and one of those who took part in Badr, narrated a report like the one transmitted by Laith. The core teaching remains tied to the same case: a person in battle makes a statement of Islam, and the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم forbids killing him after that. This specific entry does not repeat all the words. It points back to the earlier wording. So the explanation should stay measured. The value here is in confirming the report through another route and keeping the same main lesson of restraint after a statement of Islam.
What we learn from this hadith
- This entry supports the same Miqdad report through another narration.
- The text notes Miqdad's participation in Badr without adding a new ruling.
- The earlier lesson remains: do not kill after the stated word of Islam.
