Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 2305
In this narration, 'Aishah reports that Hamzah bin Amr asked the Messenger of Allah about fasting while traveling. Hamzah said he was a man who fasts, so his question was about whether he should continue that practice on a journey. The Prophet answered without making the matter heavy: if he wished, he could fast, and if he wished, he could not fast. This Hadith is a strong match for searches such as fasting while traveling hadith and traveler fasting in Ramadan. The main teaching is ease. The text supports both options, and it does not criticize either one in this wording.
What we learn from this hadith
- A person used to fasting may still ask for guidance.
- The Prophet answered with a choice, not harshness.
- Both fasting and not fasting are mentioned as options for travel.
