Mu’adhah Al-‘Adawiyyah Narrated from:
A woman asked 'Aishah: "Should a menstruating woman make up the prayers when she becomes pure?" she said: "Are you a Haruri? We used to menstruate at the time of the Messenger of Allah then we would become pure. He told us to make up the fast, but he did not tell us to make up the prayers."

Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 2318
This Hadith answers a direct question about menstruation, prayer, and fasting. A woman asked 'Aishah whether a menstruating woman should make up prayers after becoming pure. 'Aishah replied by recalling what happened at the time of the Messenger of Allah. They used to menstruate, then become pure. He told them to make up the fast, but he did not tell them to make up the prayers. For searches like menstruating woman make up fasts not prayers, this narration is clear. The teaching must stay with the report: it speaks about making up fasts and not being told to make up prayers.
What we learn from this hadith
- Menstruating women were told to make up missed fasts.
- They were not told to make up missed prayers in this report.
- Questions about worship should be answered from transmitted guidance.
