Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 3295
This narration states that a woman should not be taken as a co-wife to her paternal aunt or her maternal aunt. The hadith is brief, but it carries a clear rule about marriage combinations. The core topic is forbidden co-wives in Islam, especially where a woman would be joined with her aunt in one marriage. The wording does not mention motives, reasons, or other cases, so a careful explanation should stay with what is said. It teaches that marriage is not only about individual permission; the combination of people in the marriage also matters. This is why the aunt relationship is named clearly in the hadith.
What we learn from this hadith
- A woman should not become a co-wife to her paternal aunt.
- A woman should not become a co-wife to her maternal aunt.
- Some marriage combinations are forbidden even when stated briefly.
- The hadith guides Muslims to check family relations before marriage.
