أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَعْمَرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سَعْدٍ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ - عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ بَشِيرٍ، أَنَّهُ نَحَلَ ابْنَهُ غُلاَمًا فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يُشْهِدَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " أَكُلَّ وَلَدِكَ نَحَلْتَهُ مِثْلَ ذَا " . قَالَ لاَ . قَالَ " فَارْدُدْهُ " .
Bashir Narrated from:
It was narrated from Bashir that he gave his son a slave as a present, then he came to the Prophet and he wanted the Prophet to bear witness to that. He said: "Have you given a similar present to all of your children?" He said: "No." He said: "Then take (your present) back."

Summary of Sunan an-Nasai Hadith 3677
This same gift for all children hadith describes Bashir giving his son a slave and then asking the Prophet to witness the gift. The Prophet asked whether Bashir had given every child a present like this one. Bashir answered no. The Prophet then told him to take the gift back. The phrase about a similar present is important because it compares the treatment of one child with the treatment of the others. The narration does not discuss the children's ages, needs, or circumstances, so it is not right to add those details. Its direct teaching is that a parent should review whether a special gift creates unequal treatment before seeking formal approval or witness for it.
